Thing #3
I think using a blog as a teacher would be a great online tool. I think it could help parents get to know the teacher more before the school year starts and I think it would be a great way to communicate on important topics like field trip ideas and fundraisers. I also think it would help students find a new and creative way to express themselves and learn to use the web. With a blog a teacher could also post questions or ideas and have students respond to the blog post.

You're so right about informing parents about the goings on for the future year before the school starts. I didn't even think of that. But it would be great to show reading lists and kind of set up discussion for better understanding of the book before school starts. Good idea.
ReplyDeleteI never thought about teacher's blogs being a tool for parents to use. They could comment with questions about certain things..and they would never be in the dark about what was going on in the classroom! What a great idea:] I love it!!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you. A blog is a really creative way to go about exploring the web and all it has to offer. It's nice to look back and see what you have learned. I think students would find that really helpful, especially if they were keeping an on-going blog throughout the year.
